Changes in the operations of our spa hotels till 7 June 2021

We operate in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of the authorities regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and are restricting our activities at our spa hotels. Our holiday homes remain open to both owners and lessees at all our resorts, and the hotel receptions and R-kiosks will continue to provide services. Shareholder information events will also be organised at our sales offices in strict compliance with safety guidelines. Any travel restrictions that may take place may affect the vacation plans of some of our customers. We do our best to serve all our customers in the best possible way despite the exceptional situation.

Our spa hotels currently operate as follows:

I have booked hotel accommodation at one of the above spa hotels – what should I do?

If you have booked hotel accommodation at a Holiday Club spa hotel to be closed for the period from 8 to 28 March 2021, we will contact you during week 9 to establish the best solution for you. 

You are still welcome to stay with us and we want to offer you the possibility to swap your hotel reservation to a stay in a high-quality Villas holiday home at the same resort and for the same period. If you wish, we can also postpone your hotel reservation to take place at a later date. If you wish to cancel your reservation and have paid for your accommodation in advance, we will refund your money.

I have booked accommodation in a holiday home during the closure period – what should I do?

Accommodation in the holiday homes will take place as usual at all our resorts and you do not need to do anything. The hotel receptions and R-kiosks will continue to provide services, even at the spa hotels that will be closed. However, if you wish, we can postpone your holiday to take place at a later date.

Our holiday homes remain open to both owners and lessees at all our resorts, and the hotel receptions and R-kiosks will continue to provide services. Shareholder information events will also be organised at our sales offices in strict compliance with safety guidelines. Our spa hotels currently operate as follows:

Holiday Club Katinkulta is open

  • The hotel, Villas and holiday apartments and Harmony Spa are open normally.
  • The restaurants, spa, recreational activities and bowling alley are open.
  • Due to the interpretation made by the Regional State Administrative Agency, we are not allowed to sell restaurant and café products in our bowling alley or spa facilities for the time being.
  • The Children’s World is closed from 15 to 29 March.

In the case of Holiday Club Kuusamon Tropiikki, the hotel, reception and R-kiosk will continue to operate normally around the clock, but we have downsized the following activities until 11 April 2021:

  • The spa will be open to all customers from 2 pm to 9 pm
  • Takeaway breakfast for hotel guests from Restaurant Mango at 6:30–10:30 am, Sat–Sun at 7:30–11 am
  • Takeaway menu will be available for all customers from 4 pm to 9 pm
  • The O’Learys restaurant, Angry Birds park and bowling will be closed

Holiday Club Saariselkä opens with limited activities on 29 March 2021

In the case of Holiday Club Saariselkä, the hotel, reception and R-kiosk will continue to operate normally around the clock as of 29 March, but we have downsized the following activities:

  • The spa will be open to all customers from 3 pm to 8:30 pm
  • Aurora SPA will serve normally
  • Takeaway breakfast will be available for hotel guests from 7 am to 10 am
  • Restaurant Rakka’s takeaway menu will be available for all customers from 4 pm to 8 pm, orders and service from the hotel reception.
  • Restaurant Rakka is closed.

In the case of Holiday Club Salla, the reception, kiosk and spa will operate normally as of 29 March, but the restaurant services will be closed.

Caribia in Turku opens its services

Turku Caribia will gradually open its services on December 24, 2020. For those who have made a room reservation, the hotel will be open as early as 23 December 2020. The restaurants and spa are open on a limited schedule. The spa is only available to hotel and apartment guests from 24 December 2020 to 10 January 2021.

The services of Tampereen Kylpylä and Kuusamon Tropiikki are normalizing

In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to ensure the health of customers and staff, the partially closed operations at Tampereen Kylpylä and Kuusamon Tropiikki at the beginning of December will be normalized as follows:

Kuusamon Tropiikki Spa department, Angry Birds Park, children's playroom and bowling will be open on December 19, 2020. The spa is only available to hotel and apartment guests from 19 December 2020 until 03 January 2021.

The spa department of Tampereen Kylpylä will be open on December 22, 2020. The spa is only available to hotel and apartment guests from 22 December 2020 until 03 January 2021.

Changes to Holiday Club Caribia's operations and the services of Tampereen Kylpylä and Kuusamon Tropiikki

In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to ensure the health of our customers and staff, we are closing down the following activities on the recommendation of the authorities:

Caribia 3-23 December 2020:

  • spa, gym, SuperPark (SuperPark closed till 25.12)


Caribia 4-23 December 2020:

  • hotel, restaurants


The Caribia Hotel’s reception and R-kioski will serve those guests staying in holiday apartments 24 hours a day after the restaurants and the hotel are closed. Harmony Spa serves normally.


Tampereen Kylpylä 2–21 December 2020:

Kuusamon Tropiikki 1–18 December 2020:

  • spa, Angry Birds Park, children's playroom, gym, bowling

 

11 May 2020

Holiday Club to open holiday resorts in Finland

We will open the hotels, spas, indoor sports facilities and some of the restaurants at Holiday Club Caribia, Holiday Club Tampereen Kylpylä, Holiday Club Saimaa, Holiday Club Katinkulta and Holiday Club Kuusamon Tropiikki on 1 June 2020. The Holiday Club Saariselkä hotel, restaurant and spa as well as the Holiday Club Salla spa will open on 19 June 2020. Our holiday homes have been open to customers throughout the spring, and you can continue to use them in the normal manner.

We will open our spa hotel services gradually and, for example, our restaurants will serve you with a limited selection and opening hours. Our staff have received coronavirus guidelines at all our locations, and we want to ensure the safety of our customers and the success of their holidays in every service area.

At our spa hotels, we provide services and take precautions as follows:

Cleanliness and cleaning

  • We are rigorously cleaning our facilities, wiping, for example, lift buttons, door handles, handrails, desktops, children’s high chairs, spice jars, toilet facilities and payment terminals several times a day.
  • The bed linen and towels at the holiday homes, hotels and Villas as well as, for example, the chef uniforms are washed by laundries that have the ISO 9001:2015 quality system and the associated SFS 14065 certificate for microbiological cleanliness, which ensures that the textiles will always meet high hygienic requirements.
  • We want to protect the health of our customers and employees, so please do not travel if you are ill.

Spa hotel reception 

  • When you check in and use the reception services, please keep a safe distance from other customers (recommendation: 2 metres).
  • There is an automatic hand sanitiser dispenser for the customers in the reception lobby, and we provide instructions on info screens.
  • Please use contactless payment instead of cash. We are regularly wiping the payment terminals and reception desks.

 

  • We use protection screens at our reception desks.
  • During check-in, all our customers will receive general safety instructions for the holiday resort, instructing them on how to act during the pandemic and take other visitors into account.

 

Restaurants

  • We will open our restaurant services gradually and serve our customers with a limited selection and opening hours.
  • After they open on 1 June 2020, Holiday Club resorts will not be providing buffet service until further notice. All dishes can be ordered take-away from the restaurants that are open. The take-away dishes can be ordered from the restaurant or by telephoning the restaurant in advance.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served to customers on plates.
  • Customers must keep a safe distance from each other at the restaurants. We will ensure safe distances by, for example, reducing the number of seats and using additional facilities. 

 

Spas

  • We are limiting the number of customers at our spas so that safe distances can be kept. For instance, only every second locker will be available for use.
  • When you use the spa (shower and pool areas and massage stations), please keep a safe distance from other customers (recommendation: 2 metres). Naturally, people living in the same household can be closer to each other.

 

Gym

  • At the gym, please keep a safe distance from other customers (recommendation: 2 metres) and clean the equipment after each exercise.

 

Group exercise classes

  • We are limiting the number of participants in group exercise classes so that safe distances of 2 metres can be kept. You must sign up for group exercise classes in advance so that we can guarantee safe distances.
  • Customers must bring their own exercise mats for the group exercise class.

 

Bowling

  • We are limiting the number of bowlers such that only every second bowling lane is used or a safe distance of 2 metres between customers can otherwise be ensured. *At the Katinkulta bowling alley, please observe a safe distance from other customers.
  • Customers must use hand sanitiser before and after bowling.

 

Angry Birds parks

  • Angry Birds parks will open on 19 June 2020.
  • In the Angry Birds park, please keep a safe distance from other customers (recommendation: 2 metres).

 

Ball games

  • During the coronavirus pandemic, we do not rent rackets and balls, but customers can buy rackets and balls from our shops.

 

Golf

  • On golf courses, we observe special arrangements due to the exceptional situation. The instructions are displayed on the golf courses. Each player is responsible for following the instructions. The golf course staff will see that the instructions are followed.
  • We recommend smaller player groups. When making reservations, each player should be allowed to close the player group if they so wish. It is recommended that each group consists of family members or regular playing partners who have been spending time together during the coronavirus pandemic. It is recommended that players arrive just before their start time and leave immediately after playing. During golfing, please keep a safe distance of at least two metres from everyone and remember your personal responsibility for following the golf course instructions.
  • During the coronavirus pandemic, we do not rent golf clubs to players, and golf shoe cleaning equipment is not available.
  • We recommend paying the green fee by remote payment, in advance or by mobile payment.


Harmony Spa treatment sections

  • Our treatment sections are open, and the staff wear face masks during the treatment. Bookings should be made in advance by telephone or via our website.

 

Shops

  • We will serve our customers at our shops within the opening hours. We will observe the number of customers so that safe distances can be kept.

 

Conference facilities

  • ·       At our conference facilities, the number of people will be limited so that safe distances can be kept (recommendation: 2 metres).
  • During the coronavirus pandemic, we serve water and soft drinks in bottles and sandwiches and sweet products individually packaged.

Puerto Calma, Playa Amadores, Sol Amadores, Vista Amadores and Jardin Amadores are closed from the 26th March.

Members who have been affected by the travel restrictions will be able to use their week at another time, later in 2020 or in 2021. Members can change their week with no extra charge.

The office in Gran Canaria is closed, but members can contact in English, Spanish or German on the following number +34 928 153 776 Monday – Wednesday 09:00 – 15:00 for urgent matters. Members are advised to send emails to reservations@hccanarias.com for urgent enquires.

We will keep all members informed of the reopening of the resorts via the Holiday Club Canarias newsletter.

In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to safeguard the health of our customers and personnel, we have already closed the pool areas and indoor sports facilities of the hotels. In addition, the hotel accommodation services and restaurants of Holiday Club will close on Saturday, 28 March 2020.

The closure applies to all our spa hotels:

  • Holiday Club Saimaa
  • Holiday Club Kuusamon Tropiikki
  • Holiday Club Katinkulta

The hotel receptions and R-kiosks will continue to serve those staying at the holiday apartments, even after the restaurants and hotels have been closed.

We will open the hotels and restaurants as soon as the coronavirus situation allows it and demand normalises.

Changes to reservations and cancellations

Hotel and holiday apartment rentals

We understand that the current situation will cause changes to holiday plans. If you have booked accommodation at a Holiday Club resort to take place in the period of 27 March–18 June 2020, you may transfer your reservation free of charge to the period of 10 August–20 December 2020. As a thank you for choosing Holiday Club, we will offer you one extra day free of charge when transferring your reservation.

If you wish to cancel your reservation and have paid for your accommodation in advance, we will refund your money.

Holiday Club timeshare holders and Villas owners have been informed about the matter via our newsletter. Timeshare holders will be served at +358 (0)300 870 910.

Maintenance charges

We have received enquiries from timeshare holders about the payment of maintenance charges. The property companies and their Board are in charge of the maintenance charges and the related decisions. Property management of each company will inform its timeshare holders separately.

Also in Katinkulta, spa and indoor activities will close from March 24th onwards, in a joint decision with Katinkullan Pallohalli Oy board of directors, in order to prevent the spread of the corona virus, and thus protect the health of customers and staff.

20 March 2020

Due to the acute decrease in demand, we are forced to adjust our operations at the Holiday Club spa resorts. Our accommodation services will continue normally in all hotels and holiday apartments and our restaurants services will continue with reduced offerings.

On Monday, 23 March 2020, we will close the pool areas and indoor sports facilities of the following spa hotels:

  • Holiday Club Caribia
  • Holiday Club Tampereen Kylpylä
  • Holiday Club Saimaa
  • Holiday Club Kuusamon Tropiikki
  • Holiday Club Salla
  • Holiday Club Saariselkä.

We will open the spas and indoor sports facilities as soon as the coronavirus situation allows it and demand normalises.

We at Holiday Club are constantly monitoring the situation with coronavirus COVID-19, and are observing the guidelines issued both by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and the authorities. Our spa hotels are open normally and we are serving customers in the best possible way. Changes to reservations and cancellations:

Changes

  • Travel reservations made by private customers up to 30 April 2020 can be changed up to 24 hours before departure without charge until 30 November 2020.
  • In order to make a change, please contact Customer Service on +358 (0)300 870 900.
  • No charge will be made for changing a reservation, but any possible difference between the prices of the accommodation will be charged.
  • Changes can also be made to introductory holidays that have been booked as long as there is free capacity.
  • Changes can also be made to advance bookings made online.

Reservations made by Gold customers can be changed up to 24 hours before departure without charge until 13 June 2020. In order to make a change, please contact Customer Service on +358 (0)300 870 922.

Please note that, because of the situation, our Customer Service is very busy. If you fail to get through to our Customer Service by telephone, you can also take advantage of our callback service. We also provide service by email at asiakaspalvelu@holidayclub.fi and on Facebook Messenger.

How has coronavirus been taken into account at your resorts?

The cleanliness of our hotels and holiday apartments is always important. We at Holiday Club already have a high level of hygiene at our spas. We have also increased cleaning in the public areas of our resorts and we use disinfectant cleaning agents. We are, for example, wiping lift buttons, door handles and railings more often than usual. We are also regularly checking the cleanliness of toilets and ensuring that soap and paper towels are always available.

We have prepared for the influenza season by increasing the amount of hand disinfectant and hand washing instructions in public spaces like receptions and restaurants to ensure that both our customers and our staff can observe good hand hygiene. At our buffet breakfasts and dining, we change serving implements more often than usual. Our staff observe working practices, the aim of which is to prevent viral infections.
