The company was established under the name Suomen Lomapörssi.

1998
The company’s name changes to Holiday Club Finland Oy and it purchases Katinkulta.

1999
The company purchases Kuusamon Tropiikki.
The Katinkulta hotel opens in autumn.

2000
Twenty-six new holiday homes are completed in Katinkulta.
The hotel expansion in Kuusamon Tropiikki is completed in February.
The ski centre in Salla and the holiday centres in Airisto and Pyhäniemi are sold.
The Pyhäniemi holiday centre is sold.
Holiday Club Finland Oy purchases the Tampere Spa in December.

2001
Holiday Club Finland Oy purchases Eden in Oulu in January.
Fifty-four new holiday homes are completed in Katinkulta.
The building housing Oulu’s Eden is sold to real estate investment company Dividum.
Holiday Club purchases the Saariselkä spa-hotel in August.
Ten new holiday homes are completed at Tropiikki in Kuusamo in December.

The expansion of Eden’s hotel in Oulu (69 rooms) is completed in June.
Katinkulta’s beauty treatment centre opens in summer.
Saariselkä undergoes renovations and receives 20 new holiday homes, as well as the purchase of slope operations in the autumn.
Tampere’s new hotel (92 rooms) and renovations are completed in the autumn.

2003
Holiday Club Finland purchases the Caribia conference and spa hotel in Turku in November.

2004
Holiday Club Åre holiday centre opens in November.
Holiday Club Kuusamo’s Arena is completed in December.
Katinkulta’s fitness pool and the first ten holiday homes in Hiekkaniemi are completed by Christmas.

2005
The real estate investment company London & Regional Properties from England becomes Holiday Club Finland Oy’s new chief owner.

2006
The company’s name changes to Holiday Club Resorts Oy. The Finnish spa-hotels transfer into the ownership of Sokotel.
Holiday Club announces it will be building new holiday homes in Himos in Finland, Gardermoen in Norway, and Västervik in Sweden. Arco Vara and Holiday Club renounce the construction of the spa-hotel in Tallinn.

2007
Holiday Club St Petersburg becomes a part of Sokotel. Holiday Club continues its growth in Sweden. The Ekerum Golf & Resorts in Öland becomes part of the Holiday Club vacation ownership system. Holiday Club Resorts signs an agreement of intent for building an expansive holiday destination in Öresund.

2008
The company’s competent executive branch, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Finnish Industry Investment Ltd and a group of Finnish private investors (incl. Rauno Puolimatka’s Rausanne Oy) purchased the shares London & Regional Properties (LRP), a British-owned real estate investment company, possessed in the Holiday Club Resorts vacation ownership company. The closing of the deal marks the return of the company into the hands of financially sound and well-established Finnish institutions and private investors.

2009
Holiday Club Naantali Residence, RukaVillage ja Pyhä HolySuites are new Holiday Club destinations.
First apartments in Saimaa are finished. Apartment hotel Levi opens. Salla hotel becomes Holiday Club Salla. Holiday Club becomes the leading vacation ownership enterprise in Europe.

2010
Building of Holiday Club Saimaa Spa Hotel started and will be opened on 1st October 2011. The building of the golf course has been started.
New destination Tahko Spa Suites. New product Holiday Club Villas is launched. First 12 apartments are ready in Kuusamon Tropiikki and building of 63 apartments have been started in Saimaa.

2011
The four spa hotels – Katinkulta, Kuusamon Tropiikki, Saariselkä and Tampereen Kylpylä were acquired back to Holiday Club from the S Group on 1st of March.
In April, 5 holiday resorts in Gran Canaria were acquired: 4 in the Amadores area and 1 in Puerto Rico. In April, the hotel and rental businesses of Holiday Club Åre were sold to a joint company with Lapland Invest Ab, of which Holiday Club owns 49 %. The goal is strong growth in the Nordic leisure travel market.

It was the 25th Anniversary of Holiday Club and in honour of that, Holiday Club Saimaa, the largest holiday resort in the Nordic countries, was opened. Holiday apartments and 63 Villas apartments were completed in Saimaa. The construction of Villas apartments in Katinkulta was started. The first apartments connected to the spa hotel will be completed in August 2012.

2012
The successful Villas Concept continued. First Villas apartments in Katinkulta were completed in connection with the spa hotel in August 2012. In Kuusamo, first holiday houses of Villas Tropiikki 2 were completed for Christmas 2012. More Villas-apartments and houses are going up in Saimaa and Katinkulta.

The Angry Birds Activity Park Concept was launched. Holiday Club is the main partner in the biggest Angry Birds Activity Park in the world, which was opened in Vuokatti on 15 December 2012. Additionally Holiday Club announced that it will construct activity parks in connection with three of its spa hotels. The park in Kuusamo was opened for Christmas 2012, the parks in Saariselkä and Saimaa will be opened in 2013.

2013
It was time to develop services. New Angry Birds Activity Parks were opened in Saariselkä, Saimaa and Puerto Rico Gran Canary.
Along with these, the new Shopping Center Capri and 18-holes Golf Saimaa course were opened in Saimaa.
In Kuusamon Tropiikki there was an opening of a golf course and O’Learys restaurant. Also high quality Villas apartments were built to Katinkulta and Saimaa.

2014
Construction of high quality timeshare and Villas apartments in Katinkulta, Saimaa and Kuusamon Tropiikki.
Indian company Mahindra Holidays & Resorts became a new owner with a 18,77 % share.

2015
Holiday Club is now 90 % owned by Mahindra Holidays & Resorts. Other owners are directors of the company and Fennia.  
Spa hotel in Åre back to Holiday club by 50 %.
Spa Hotel Caribia was puchased back from Sokotel and a large renovation started.

2016
Iiro Rossi was appointed as CEO as Vesa Tengman retired.
New restaurants were opened in Caribia: O`Learys Sport Bar and Classic Pizza, also indoor activity park SuperPark.

2017
Renovation of Spa Hotel Caribia was finished along with first city-Villas apartments.
Villas apartments were also built in Himos, Kuusamo, Salla, Saariselkä and Åre.  
Renovations started in Kuusamon Tropiikki and Saariselkä hotels.
Timeshare sales were started in two new resorts: Kuortane and Vierumäki.
