During the maintenance weeks, more extensive cleaning and repair work, which cannot be done when the hotels are open, are done. Holiday Club Resorts Oy has acquired the spa hotel Ylläs Saaga, located near the Ylläs fell. The seller is Ylläs Saaga Oy, whose main owner is the paper workers' union Paperiliitto. The deal was closed on 20 October 2011. Through the purchase, Holiday Club can significantly extend its activities at Ylläs.

Varma becomes owner of Holiday Club Saimaa

In an agreement signed 9 March 2010, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company has bought the shares of Saimaan Kylpyläkiinteistöt Oy. Varma will build and finance the Holiday Club Saimaa Spa Hotel in Lappeenranta. Varma has taken over the investment project, which was previously to be financed by multiple owners. Two of the original shareholders remain: they are the City of Lappeenranta and the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.
